The Warmth of Having Purpose

The soul that knows its purpose is the ultimate expression of the spirit that has found its worth.

Having meaning in life is like shining the most brilliant light into the most devastating darkness and watching its beams get swallowed whole — but knowing, deep down, that you at least tried to contribute something to a universe that may have promoted, but also conspired against you from the very day you were born into it.

But in that place, deep within, you still know — because you feel it with every fiber of your being, every ounce of your soul — that even in a universe devoid of even the smallest modicum of any meaning whatsoever, your efforts weren't for nothing. They weren't in vain.

The soul that knows its purpose is the ultimate expression of the spirit that has found its worth.

Because there's an immense warmth the soul feels when it's able to shine that light, if even for the sake of defying the darkness. That's the warmth of having purpose in life. That's how you bring meaning into a universe that's totally devoid of it.

And the longer you stay lost, the longer you avoid responsibility for your life, the longer you'll suffer. Because the soul that knows its purpose is the ultimate expression of the spirit that has found its worth.
